Recap
The next game of the night saw Kingston Royals take on a heavily depleted Richmond side. In a tight and tense first half Kingston took the lead through a Louise McMullen finish from just outside the semi circle and they carried that deficit all the way into the half time break.
After the break McMullen would add a second of the contest and a stunner from range at that to have Kingston 2-0 ahead. A smartly taken throw in by Alki Stefanidis saw Monica Fonua tap home to halve the deficit only for Charlene Leung to restore the two goal cushion with a finish from around ten meters. A thumping long range effort from Lisa Fonua gave Richmond a sniff but it looked like it would be Kingston’s night. That was until youngster Grace Norbury stepped up and converted her effort off a corner on the full time buzzer to send the game into penalties. However Kingston managed to win the shootout and take home a big three points for the club.
Player of the game – Louise McMullen (Kingston Royal FC)
