The second game of the night pitted third placed Pascoe Vale against sixth placed Carlton, with the winner to earn a semi final birth against Fitzroy next week. In what was a tense and cagey opening neither side could break the deadlock as the pair went into the half time break locked at 0-0.

The second half began in the same vein but finally the stalemate was broken as Rebecca Davies finished low from a free kick to give Carlton the lead. The lead did not last long though as debutant Evangelia Parthimos got a goal back to put her new side on level terms. Soon after Pascoe were ahead when Parthimos again netted with the momentum swinging Pascoe Vale’s way. They then had a bit of breathing space when Marcela Marques made a classy run before finishing one on one giving her side a 3-1 lead. Some high pressure from Davies paid off as she forced the ball over the line to have her side within a goal and they were level when Davies completed her hat trick finishing from the right hand side into the bottom corner. Carlton’s dream looked to be shattered when Pascoe were awarded a late penalty though Anita Odd would put it wide sending the game into extra time.

Two, three minute halves proceeded the final whistle but neither side found the net as we were going all the way to  penalty shootout. Neither side seemed to want to miss as it went all the way to the fifth penalty taker for each side before Krystal McCluskey saw her effort saved by Sam Dowling to secure victory for Carlton and put them into the semi finals of the Futsal Oz Cup.
