The prime time fixture of the night saw what was shaping up to be the biggest game of the round as league leaders Pascpoe Vale faced off against second placed Balwyn. With 10 games already played in this inaugural Series Futsal Season, Pascoe Vale and Balwyn have already broken away from the rest of the pack as second placed Balwyn, is nine points clear of next best, Hume, with Pascoe two points clear on top. The game started in a flurry of action as Sofiane Soufi opened the scoring for the defending champions from the edge of the area. Andre Caro then connectd with a long thrown from Felipe Bley to volley home in some style. Richard Ferguson was next up for Pascoe as he tapped home from close range after some excellent ball movement from his side. Valerio Celenza finally pegged one back for Balwyn as he rocketed his effort in off the crossbar from range. Pascoe hit straight, however, as Caro was found from a corner to pick up his second and have Pascoe in a commanding position going into half time.
Balwyn started the second half much better than they finished the first, finding the bottom left through Micheal Salvi. Pascoe Vale asserted their dominance again with a quick reply as Andrea Caro finished in the bottom left for his fourth goal of the evening, re-establishing Pascoe Vale’s four goal lead. Balwyn sent their keeper out after falling behind again and it proved to be the catalyst for a fight back. Balwyn quickly got the next three goals through some brilliant attacking play. Andrea Zaccone powered a shot into the bottom left. Inspired by his first Zuccone struck again finding the top left with a banging strike. The come back looked complete as Balwyn drew within one goal through a powerful finish from Roberto Armellini finding the back of the net. Pascoe Vale proved too good soon after with Andrea Caro scoring for a fifth time and Sofiane Soufi scoring his second. Both goals coming due to Balwyn bringing their keeper on as a fifth man.
