Recap
After last weeks four goals to five win to Metro the stage was set for another nail bitter. With Macleod finding their feet late last week and showing they can match it with Metro they where coming into tonights game with some serious confidence.
The first half started as a tight contest with both teams neck and neck creating opportunities but unable to convert early. As the half wore on the teams continued to struggle to score as both goal keepers put on an incredible show. Finally the first breakthrough came from Macleod as they managed to score to equalise the aggregate and build some confidence. They followed the first goal with a quick second and the threat of relegation began to creep into the metro players minds. It proved something they could answer as they responded well to the pressure they where being put under. Metro went on to score the next two goals to again move ahead. The game was goal for goal from there as Metro went into half time with the one goal advantage from the previous leg.
The second half was again a tight contest with neither team able to get the better of the other. As one team would score the other would respond quickly. As the time on the clock ticked down Metro held a tight lead. The pressure began to get to players from either team as mistakes where made and foolish tackles committed. As the game moved into its final minutes Metro held a slight advantage with a single goal their lead. Macleod attacked hard but where unable to break the deadlock. With frustrations growing a dangerous lunging tackle saw a fifth foul grant metro with a ten meter penalty which was converted emphatically by Metro veteran Tomislav Grgic. This final goal proved too much for Macleod and stood as the final score for the game.
Well done to Metropolitan Futsal Club as they prepare to battle it out for another season in the Series Futsal competition.
