Fitzroy have held onto their undefeated streak by the skin of their teeth, getting over a defiant Pascoe Vale on penalties.

Fitzroy needed a win to stay level with Carlton at the top of the ladder, and they started strongly, getting the first goal of the game through Alistair Dunlo.

Lachlan Wright equalised for Pascoe Vale and the scores were level at half time.

Fitzroy captain Fernando De Moreas continued his fantastic run of form, scoring Fitzroy’s second to regain their lead.

Fitzroy gave away their sixth foul of the half late in proceedings, opening the door for the returning Andre Caro to score from the ten-meter spot; an invitation that he duly accepted.

The game went to penalties, and Fitzroy were the more lethal side from the spot, getting over the defending champions 2-1 on penalties.
