The first half was tight, with both teams having good passages of play before Carlton found a goal through Atay Ibrahim to open the scoring.
When Carlton scored their second goal of the game in the second half, Pascoe Vale opted to use the ‘fifth man’ tactic, substituting off their goalkeeper and bringing on an extra outfield player.
That tactic proved costly as Carlton went on to score five more goal and wrap up the win.
