FC Carlton Heart are the only undefeated team remaining in Series Futsal Victoria, after beating Fitzroy in the top of the table clash.

Peter Tamburrino was the best performer for the Heart, saving two ten-metre penalties in the first half, one after the half-time siren.

The Heart started strongly, scoring two of the first three goals of the game, both of which came from Ernie Simsek.

Fernando De Moreas was on fire for Fitzroy, getting them back into the game, but his penalty miss after the half-time siren meant Carlton took a one goal lead into the break.

Fitzroy equalised and took the lead in the second half, before Carlton got back on level terms after a goal from Ben Rigby.

The game looked set to be going to a penalty shootout, before Carlton captain Chaaban Rajab let fly from behind the halfway mark to beat Fitzroy keeper Aaron Yu and find the back of the net and win the game for the Heart.

Simsek received a red card for a second bookable offence with six seconds to play, and will miss the Heart’s next game against Brunswick.
