Pascoe Vale showed signs of returning to their dominant best as they got over the top of Hume with a convincing second half performance.
The first half was hard-fought, with both teams keeping their defensive doors tightly shut, before a lapse in concentration from Hume allowed Pascoe Vale to get in behind their defence, with Marucio Novak making no mistake from close range.
The second half saw more free-flowing attacking play; Pascoe Vale doubled their lead through Sofiane Soufi, before Hume got one back through Jason Barrientos.
Pascoe Vale finished the game strongly, with goals from Brenno Polatti and rising star Rico Hauser sealing all three points for the defending champions.
