Carlton have managed to hold on for a hard-fought win over Balwyn, despite a late resurgence from The Blues.
The first half was tight, with the two teams locked at one goal a piece until the final five minutes of the half.
Carlton came out of a time-out firing and scored two successive goals to take a two goal lead into the half-time break.
The two sides exchanged goals in the second period, but Carlton managed to hold on for a tight five-four win, despite a late flourish from Balwyn.
