Fitzroy have emerged victorious against arch rivals Pascoe Vale in the battle of second vs third on the Series Futsal Victoria ladder.

It was an intense affair from the beginning, with both team’s goalkeepers starring for their sides.

Fitzroy took the lead before the half time break with a quick free kick that caught Pascoe Vale’s defence napping.

The second half continued in the same vain as the first, tightly contested, before a double from Fernando De Moraes opened up a three goal lead for Fitzroy.

Pascoe Vale decided to deploy the fifth-man tactic to get back into the game, substituted their keeper for a fifth outfield player.

However, that move backfired as Fitzroy took advantage to open up an insurmountable lead and ultimately win the game to go nine points clear of Pascoe Vale in second.

Fitzroy keeper Aaron Yu had a great game in goals, even scoring a goal into Pascoe Vale’s empty net.
