Brunswick have held on for a crucial win against the Western Wolves in a match that had big implications for the relegation battle.

The Wolves started the stronger of the two teams and took the lead in the fourth minute from the penalty spot.

The rest of the half was tightly-contested but the scorers were not troubled again until the half-time break.

The second half was much more exciting with Brunswick starting the second half on fire and getting back into the game.

The match continued to be a physical affair, but Brunswick were landing all the punches on the scoreboard as they came back from behind to get out to a four-two lead.

The Wolves got within a goal when Tiema Couliabaly scored a wonderful goal from range, but Brunswick held on for a hard-fought win that put them nine points clear of the bottom of the ladder and the automatic relegation.
