Fitzroy have secured an unconvincing win over Brunswick after coming from behind to win on penalties.

Brunswick were as impressive as Fitzroy were poor throughout the game, but Fitzroy’s class kept them in the game as they found first half goals through Jimmy Soufis and Leornado Correa to counter goals from Anthony Brown and an own-goal from Fernando De Moraes for Brunswick.

Brown was on target again in the second-half, scoring from long range for the second time in the match.

Fitzroy managed to get back into the game when De Moraes got on the end of a scrappy piece of play to level the scores.

The teams couldn’t be separated in normal time, and Fitzroy keeper Aaron Yu was the hero in the shootout as he saved all three of Brunswick’s penalties.
