Hume have finished strongly to stave off a late Moreland resistance and win their first match of their season.

The first half was tense and tight, with both teams failing to create an abundance of chances, opting to focus more on not conceding.

The two teams went into the half-time break locked at one goal a piece, but a more free-flowing second half followed.

Moreland took the lead in the second half, but Hume came from behind to take the ascendency and get out to a four-two lead.

Moreland deployed the fifth-man tactic and reaped the benefits with a goal that got them back into the game.

However, it backfired when Hume scored their fifth goal into the open net to seal the three points.
