Recap

The first game of the night saw Balwyn who sat in eighth take on bottom of the table Preston United. A win for Balwyn was crucial as they looked to keep pace with the top four. They made a fast start to the game scoring first but were pegged back when Taylor Halabi found the net. From there it was one way traffic though as Balwyn dominated the tie, a double from Hurlimann and singles to Cartwright, Shamoon Stewart and Camilleri ensured a five goal lead for Balwyn going into the half time break leading 6-1.

The second half was more of the same as Balwyn set about improving their goal difference scoring seven goals to one in the second half on the back of a hat trick to Finley Nobbs, a further two to Hurlimann and singles to Shamoon and Camilleri causing a rout of their opposition and pushing them closer to the top four.
