Recap
The final game of the night pitted two great rivals against each other as Fitzroy took on Carlton. Last time they met Carlton got the points and a win in this one would put them just three points behind their rivals. Carlton had a chance to take the lead early on with the simplest of tap ins unbelievably missed by Rebecca Davies letting Fitzroy off the hook. Fitzroy would make them pay as Bec Catterwell turned well as a target and finished low to give her side the lead. Soon after they would double their advantage when Sarah Richardson launched a rocket into the top corner to have her side leading 2-0 at the half time break.
The second half saw a cagey opening with neither side providing much going forward. It took a lovely set play by Fitzroy to add another to the goals tally with Sarah Richardson finishing from distance. With the game faltering away Carlton did manage to pull one back when Rebecca Davies cut inside and finished into the bottom corner to keep up a glimmer of hope. It was all over shortly after though when a shot from Ili Jakab was parried to the back post which saw Elaina Vatcky tap home to seal an important three points for Fitzroy.
